Chef Vitangelo Recchia is the owner of Bella Napoli Pizzeria & Restaurant in Port Charlotte, Florida, which he founded in 2014. A highly accomplished chef, he grew up in the pizza business—his parents own Dino’s Italian Restaurant, a Pizza Hall of Fame member in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
Recchia is an alumnus of Penn State University and graduated first in his class from famed chef Gualtiero Marchesi’s Alma Scuola Cucina Italiana in Parma, Italy. He is also a certified master pizzaiolo through the Accademia Pizzaioli and the Roman Pizza Academy.
A Premiere Member of PMQ’s U.S. Pizza Team, Recchia took 2nd place for his Roman-style Pan Pizza at the 2024 World Pizza Championship in Parma, Italy, and was the top U.S. competitor in Teglia Romana at that event for three years in a row. He is an ambassador for Marra Forni. He speaks fluent Italian and is a proud first-generation Italian American.
